Welcome to Kloster Steinfeld
History & Monastery
Even though Steinfeld as a spiritual place has a history of more than 1000 years, we are celebrating (2 years late due to Corona) the 900th anniversary of the founding of the monastery in 2023.
In 1923 it was taken over by the Salvatorian order and revived. Today, the complex houses a hotel with café, a grammar school and the basilica.
Spiritual life
Steinfeld Monastery is a monastery that lives in its time.
The Salvatorians are involved here, among other things, as the school sponsors of the Hermann-Josef-Kolleg, as teachers, as pastors in the GdG. Today, in addition to a monastery shop with a monastery café, the Salvatorians run the Steinfeld Monastery Academy and manage the guest house.
More about the Order of Salvatorian
With the move ot the Trapist Sisters from Dahlem to Steinfeld, spiritual life in Steinfeld is enlivened by another order.
