Prämonstratensian Statue

The group of three on the southern wall of the southern transept shows the founders of Steinfeld Monastery – the so-called Premonstratensian statues:

  • The left statue shows Francis with the rope.
  • In the center is Augustine, represented as bishop of Hippo – his attribute is the heart pierced with an arrow.
  • On the right stands Bruno of Cologne with the skull in his left hand.

Above the entrance to the sacristy you can see Norbert von Xanten with the patriarch’s cross and monstrance.
