Until the middle of the last century, the Kastanienhof was the monastery’s farm. Here were partly stables and barns.
The trees in the middle of the yard gave it its name.
Today it is partly used by the upper school students of the adjacent grammar school and by seminar participants of the academy of the monastery Steinfeld.
